Community Dance Program

Joy in Motion • Free the Mind • Connect to the Body

Our Community Dance Program is a space to move, sweat, laugh, and feel good in your body — no matter your background or experience level.

Led by Amsa-t Neter, this class is rooted in fun, freedom, and embodied joy. Each session blends a variety of dance styles, creating an energizing and inclusive experience that meets people exactly where they are.

Styles may include:

Hip Hop

Musical Theater

Afrobeat & Dancehall

80s & 90s grooves

R&B & Funk

This program is not about perfection or performance. It’s about movement as medicine — releasing stress, building confidence, reconnecting with your body, and remembering that joy is a vital part of wellness.

  • Come as you are.
  • Move how you feel.
  • Leave lighter than when you arrived.

AFRICAN DANCE & DRUM PROGRAM

Ancestral Rhythm • Sacred Movement • Collective Healing

Our African Dance & Drum Program is a spiritual, cultural, and communal experience rooted in ancestral tradition and living African wisdom.

This offering is inclusive, reverent, and deeply grounding, taught by master artists who carry the dances, rhythms, and teachings with integrity and respect. Participants are invited to move with intention, connect to the drum, and experience dance as a sacred dialogue between body, spirit, and community.

African dance is more than movement — it is prayer, storytelling, and remembrance. It reconnects us to lineage, land, and the collective heartbeat.

This program welcomes all bodies, all backgrounds, and all levels of experience. No prior knowledge is required — only openness, respect, and willingness to listen.

  • Here, we move with purpose.
  • We honor the ancestors.
  • We remember who we are.

Spades Speakeasy

Connection Through Play

A social event series for regular community connection nights rooted in play, presence, and relationship.

Spades Speakeasy is our social event series designed to cultivate connection through joy, play, music, and meaningful conversation. These gatherings — often adult-centered — create space for community members to unwind, laugh, and build authentic relationships outside of service work.

In a world that often isolates us, joy becomes resistance. Fun becomes healing. Community becomes medicine.

These events may include:

Game nights

Cultural cuisine dinners

DJs and live performances

Creative mixers

Fundraising socials

  • We believe pleasure and connection are essential to sustainable community building.

Aina love Project

StewardshipCultivation Reciprocity

A community-led land and park stewardship initiative, grounded in care, respect, and collective responsibility.

The ʻĀina Love Project is our land stewardship and food cultivation initiative rooted in the understanding that the land is not a resource — it is a relationship.

Grounded in the belief that we must care for the land that cares for us, this program brings community members together to mālama ʻāina through park beautification, land restoration, and hands-on cultivation.

But our work does not stop at cleaning and restoring. ʻĀina Love is also about growing food, growing knowledge, and growing relationship.
We believe:

The land feeds us physically and spiritually

When we give to the land, it gives back

Food sovereignty is community power

Cultivation is both survival and ceremony

Through workshops, demonstrations, and collaborative growing efforts, we aim to teach community members — youth and adults alike — how to grow their own food, understand soil health, and reconnect with natural cycles.
Participants may engage in:

Community garden development

Food-growing education and skill-building

Soil stewardship and regenerative practices

Youth cultivation projects

Shared harvest and food distribution

  • Service becomes ceremony when done with intention.
  • Cultivation becomes love when done in relationship.

Aloha Ubuntu Initiative

Restoring the Village Through Collective Care

To restore the village model of care by connecting community members through shared support, service, and responsibility. Rooted in the values of Aloha and Ubuntu, where collective wellbeing is the foundation of a thriving community

The Aloha Ubuntu Initiative is our community care network rooted in the Hawaiian value of Aloha (love, compassion, interconnectedness) and the African philosophy of Ubuntu (“I am because we are”).

This initiative responds to a growing need: mothers stretched thin, families navigating economic pressures, elders feeling isolated, and youth seeking purpose.

Through coordinated volunteer support, service exchange, and intergenerational engagement, we are rebuilding the village model of shared responsibility.

Program components include:

Volunteer-based childcare support

Household assitance for families in need

Youth community service opportunities

Intergenerational mentorship connections

Community wellness and life-skills workshop

  • This program exists to ensure that no one carries life alone.
